INTERVALO Laboratorio en residencia 2016, es un proyecto conjunto de LABlab y Casa 18 [espacio de arte], localizado en Quito - Ecuador, cuyo fin es apoyar la producción, creación, investigación y difusión de las artes contemporáneas, así como establecer diálogos entre los creadores y los agentes vinculados a las artes en la región.
El programa de residencias ofrece oportunidades de explorar, reflexionar y producir desde diversas maneras de interacción que se pueden dar durante el proceso creativo, promoviendo un intercambio de nuevas ideas y experiencias. Se abordan las prácticas artísticas como campo de pensamiento y conocimiento, fomentando el encuentro entre artistas, estudiantes, organizaciones e instituciones.

EJE CONCEPTUAL.-
INTERVALO - Laboratorio en residencia 2016

Como apunte en búsqueda de un futuro que a la vez registra un pasado, el tiempo se bifurca planteando diversos simulacros de realidades subjetivas con cualidades caleidoscópicas que nos proponen pensar en lo inaprensible del universo.
Discurriendo lenta o rápidamente, el tiempo en sí mismo deja su huella. Sentimos perderlo o ganarlo con el ocio o el trabajo. Posibilita ordenar los sucesos en secuencias, aborda una idea de velocidad, movimiento, espacio. Al tiempo lo quisiéramos detener, acelerar o recuperar. En cualquier sitio el tiempo impone su presencia, no sólo marcando pautas, también plantea lo inabarcable, su expresión tiene lugar desde la infinitud de posibles.
INSTALACIONES:
BASES.-
Podrán postular personas con experiencia en:
Artes visuales y sonoros, curaduría, gestión cultural, artes escénicas (danza, teatro etc.), arquitectura, escritores, músicos que tengan intereses en la investigación artística contemporánea, sin importar su lugar de procedencia o residencia.

Alojamiento, Asistencia, promoción, registro y difusión de actividades
Cada período incluye:
- 21 días de alojamiento en dormitorios compartidos entre 3 a 4 personas en habitaciones duplex.
- Visita de 5 días a la Amazonía ecuatoriana con estancia en el Lodge CASA SINCHI SACHA (todo incluido). * Sobre la Casa Sinchi Sacha:
La Casa Sinchi Sacha es una
experiencia de turismo responsable, sostenible y de convivencia intercultural,
acreditada por la WFTO, Organización Mundial del Comercio Justo, además de
estar en proceso de verificación por Reinforest.
Se encuentra ubicada en la
Provincia del Napo, Cantón Tena, Parroquia Ahuano, a 180 kilómetros de la
Ciudad de Quito (4 horas vía terrestre) y a 24 Kilómetros de la Ciudad del Tena.
Usted llegará a la Casa Sinchi Sacha vía fluvial, en un inolvidable viaje por
el Río Napo, para encontrar en plena selva amazónica las instalaciones de
Sinchi Sacha Podrá disfrutar de la riqueza y belleza de 100 hectáreas
exclusivas de Bosque Tropical, conservadas para observar, vivir y sentir la
flora y fauna Amazónica.
*La residencia tiene una capacidad máxima para 12 participantes
La Residencia NO incluye:
– Pasajes desde y hacia el lugar de residencia del aplicante
– Viáticos
– Honorarios
– Presupuesto de producción y movilización
– Seguro Médico
Los artistas en residencia se comprometen a lo siguiente:
-Utilizar las instalaciones asignadas en LABlab por un periodo de 21 días, respetando el manual de convivencia.
-A cumplir con todo el cronograma de actividades propuesto para la residencia.
-Realizar una presentación pública abierta a la comunidad local.
-Montar y desmontar una exposición con los resultados de la residencia, en las salas de exhibición al final de la estadía.
LABlab se compromete a :
- Extender cartas de invitación a los seleccionados (via e-mail).
- Otorgar certificados de participación.
- Viabilizar todos los proyectos, siempre y cuando NO atenten contra las condiciones físicas del espacio, o contra la reglamentación legal vigente en Ecuador.

- Arts Faculty - Pontificia Universidad CatólicaLABlab is a research program, combining art curatorships with experimental residences. Its main objective is to support contemporary creation. LABlab's vision is self-managed and collaborative, gathering artists from all over the globe. LABlab collaborates with each participant, bringing to the table, funds to cope with artistic projects, of mutual interest. It is a solution for artists having no external financing offers, experiences and activities from the dynamics of the D.I.W.O. (do it with others). That is the reason why, LABlab forms partnerships with various organizations and institutions, to enhance and strengthen their projects.
INTERVALO Laboratory in residence (LIR), is an initiative of LABlab and Casa 18 [art space], located in Quito - Ecuador, which aims to support the production, creation, research and dissemination of the contemporary arts, as well as to establish a dialogue, between the creators and the agents, linked to the arts in the region.
The LIR provides opportunities, to explore, reflect, and produce from different interactions, expected to occur during the creative process. Fostering an exchange of ideas and experiences, through the connections between artists, students, organizations and many other contexts of the city, from where the artistic practice can be addressed, as a field for reflection and knowledge.

The future inherently registers the past. Time branches out and propounds diverse simulations of subjective realities with kaleidoscope-like qualities that inspire reflection, about the elusiveness of the universe. Flowing fast or slow, time itself leaves its mark. It could be felt when people lose or gain time, with work or with leisure.
Because of time, it is possible to organize events in a sequential way; it addresses the idea of speed, movement, and space. At the same time, people would like to capture, accelerate, and recover it.
Time imposes its presence everywhere, not only marking patterns, but also proposing the uncontainable; its expression holds space in infinite possibilities.
BASES
INTERVALO LIR is currently looking for experienced people in:
Visual Arts, Arts Curation, Cultural Management, Performing Arts (Dance, Theatre etc.), Architects or Writers, who have an interest, in contemporary artistic research, regardless their place of origin or residence.

The applicant investment: 300 USD.
Each period includes:
- 21 days accommodation in shared between 3 to 4 people in the duplex rooms.
- A visit of a five (5) days to the Ecuadorian Amazon in the Lodge Casa SINCHI SACHA (all included).
- Access to WiFi, bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, library, specialized workshops, exhibition gallery.
- Assistance, promotion, registration and dissemination of activities of the residence.
* The residence has a maximum capacity for 12 participants
The residence does not include:
- Tickets for transportation to and from the place of residence of the applicant
- Travel expenses
- Fees
- Budget production and mobilization- Health insurance
Artists in residence are committed to the following:
-Use of the facilities assigned for a period of 21 days, LABlab respecting the coexistence manual.
-To comply with the schedule of activities proposed for the residence.
-Make a public presentation open to the local community.
-Assemble and disassemble an exhibition with the results of the residence, in the showrooms at the end of the stay.
LABlab is committed to:- Extend letters of invitation to selected (via e-mail).
- Granting certificates of participation.
- Enable all projects, provided it does not go against the physical conditions of space, or the legal regulations in force in Ecuador.
